Where is Owben based and which areas do you cover?
Owben is based at Unit 8, Sunrise Enterprise Park, Sunderland, SR5 3RX. All welding, fabrication, design and assembly is carried out at our 22,000 sq ft facility there, and we work with manufacturing and industrial clients across North East England.
What does an M&E contractor do?
An M&E (mechanical and electrical) contractor installs and maintains the mechanical and electrical systems that buildings and production facilities depend on. At Owben that covers electrical installation and control systems, mechanical installation and fabrication, facility improvements, network infrastructure and machinery compliance.
Do you work as a principal contractor or a sub-contractor?
Both. We deliver full turnkey projects, build-to-order work or sub-contract packages, and we work alongside principal contractors on larger projects.
Which accreditations does Owben hold?
Owben is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, holds EN 1090-1 certification for structural steel fabrication, and is accredited to CHAS Elite and Cyber Essentials Plus. We are also an SSIP member and hold an EcoVadis Silver sustainability rating.
